Findings from the first half of 2024
The new reality of cyber resilience
The demands on companies' cyber resilience have never been higher. Many companies are confronted with cyber threats on a daily basis in their often complex technology environments and still do not have effective security solutions for corporate networks.
As a result, companies are increasingly being hacked and publicly pilloried. Hardly a day goes by without media coverage of new cybercrime incidents. For companies, this means having to deal with a large number of additional areas of damage: Private individuals are being asked by online lawyers to participate in class action lawsuits, share prices of large security companies are plummeting by numerous percentage points, leading to legal action by shareholders, employees are leaving companies due to known security breaches. The world for entrepreneurs has demonstrably changed.

Learning from real incidents
In this white paper, we have listed and categorized an excerpt of the security incidents in the first half of 2024 that were picked up by the media. We have explicitly decided not to directly name the companies affected. This is because the aim of the white paper is not to reprimand the companies affected. Rather, the white paper is intended to help companies learn from incidents and draw conclusions for their own IT security strategy.
