What many network professionals already know from port security, such as MAC address limitations or configuration guidelines, we supplement with an additional mechanical layer of protection.
Because in cybersecurity, the longer it takes an attacker to gain access, the better. Of course, a port buddy does not replace complete network security. But it at least prevents someone from simply plugging a device such as a Shark Jack into an open port.
