OOPS H1-2024 Report

Insights into over 130 documented security incidents - and what companies need to learn from them

The OOPS H1-2024 Report provides a detailed analysis of over 130 publicly known security incidents from the first half of 2024. It shows which industries were particularly affected, which attack methods dominate, which groups of actors are behind them and how all these factors are distributed in percentage terms. Today, companies are under more pressure than ever to strengthen their cyber resilience. Complex IT landscapes, a lack of protection mechanisms and a constantly growing threat environment mean that cyber attacks have long since become a daily risk.

The consequences range from public exposure and legal risks to significant effects on brand image, share prices and employee loyalty. The report presents a selection of incidents known to the media - deliberately without naming the companies concerned. The aim is to learn from real attacks and derive specific recommendations for a robust security strategy.

OOPS H2-2024 Report

German companies targeted - learning from over 120 real security incidents

The OOPS H2-2024 Report provides a compact overview of more than 120 publicly known security incidents from the second half of 2024. It analyzes the sectors particularly affected as well as the typical attackers and attack types. It is supplemented by specialist articles from leading cybersecurity experts.

The report shows how much the threat situation is increasing: more professional cyber criminals, more sophisticated attacks, an increase in ransomware and major data leaks with high costs, downtime and loss of trust. At the same time, media attention and regulatory requirements are increasing. Without naming companies by name, the report presents key incidents and derives specific recommendations for action to optimize security strategies and ward off future attacks in a more targeted manner.

OOPS H2-2025 Report

Cyberattacks in Germany - over 160 real-life incidents with clear recommendations for action

The OOPS H2-2025 Report analyzes over 160 real cyberattacks from the second half of 2025, from ransomware and massive data theft to DDoS attacks - and shows how professionally and data-driven attackers are now acting. It makes it clear which sectors are affected, which vulnerabilities are repeatedly found (lack of segmentation, inadequate monitoring, outdated authorizations, weak emergency plans) and that many protective measures are in place but not consistently managed.

In each case, the report provides specific recommendations on how companies can detect, limit or prevent attacks earlier, for example through continuous SOC monitoring, vulnerability management, XDR/EDR, data loss prevention, zero trust and clear incident response processes - and thus supports the targeted expansion of cyber resilience.
